Saturday to Saturday, 6 full days skiing
Introduction
A week of introductory-level day tours and great off piste with the option of some steeper couloir descents if conditions and ability allow. The Dolomites is such a magnificent area for ski touring and off-piste skiing, we have added a second base. This week compliments our Corvara week but with the focus shifted to the south of the range. So, whether you have been to the Dolomites before or this is you first time, you should be on new slopes and venturing over mountains and passes not skied before.
Course base: Rocca Pietore
Outline Programme
| Day 1: | Meet in Covara at 7pm. Briefing on the week's activities in the evening. The Course Director will organise any hire equipment or boot fittings for the following morning. Overnight hotel. |
| Day 2: | Off-piste ski day in Marmolada. We may use our skins to get to some untracked couloirs. The canyon is one of the most scenic. |
| Day 3: | We head off on the lift system to Cortina d'Ampezzo riding in 5 torri, Tofana and Lagazuoi. A mix of off-piste and ski-touring around this area, with the possibility of skiing the Tofana de Rozes (3,262m). |
| Day 4: | Val d'Arcia in the Pelmo Mountain with the possibility of riding the famous Forca Rossa Couloir (2,600m)/ 800 to 1000m ascent. |
| Day 5: | Forcella Giau with an ascent of the Mondeval Mountain (2,650m)/ 900m ascent. One of the most scenic tours in the Dolomites surrounded by Pelmo, Croda da Lago and Tofane. Simply amazing. |
| Day 6: | Forca Rossa in Marmolada group (2,500m)/1,000m ascent. This is an easy tour in a really quiet valley at the bottom of the astonishing south face of the Marmolada. |
| Day 7: | Van delle Sasse (2600mt) 1,000m ascent. This tour is in the closeby Zoldo Valley at the foot of Civetta Mountain. We ride a lift to avoid the ski slopes and with ski touring we get into the valley. |
| Day 8: | Dispersal. Breakfast will be provided on the last morning before leaving the tour. |
