Spantik summits
Expedition leader, Andy Chapman, just called from Spantik base camp. The whole team are safely in base camp. Two of the climbers were able to summit yesterday (21 July) with our High Altitude Porters. It was a 16-hour return trip to the summit. They plan to leave base camp on Monday, which should mean they are back in Skardu on Wednesday, a couple of days before the Gasherbrum II team are due to arrive back. Meanwhile, Chris Groves' K2 Base Camp Trek team flew from Skardu to Islamabad this morning in time for their onward flights in the early hours of Sunday morning.
