3 x spring 2013 8,000ers

Next spring we are organising expeditions to 3 8,000m peaks; Everest, Lhotse and Dhaulagiri. As of today, there are 4 places remaining on our Everest expedition, so please get in touch now if you would like to join the team (the 2013 leaders are confirmed as David Hamilton, Matt Parkes and Pasang Tenzing). In addition to Everest, we will have a team on Lhotse, which includes some of the doctors who climbed Everest as part of the highly successful 2007 'Xtreme Everest' expedition. Last but not least, Robert Mads Anderson is leading our expedition to Dhaulagiri - the world's seventh highest mountain. This is a first for Jagged Globe, and a very rare opportunity to join a professionally led and organised expedition to this peak. The team will include some very strong mountaineers. Before then, Robert is leading a Jagged Globe expedition to climb a totally new route on Mount Vinson in Antarctica.

Before the spring 2013 season kicks off, there is going to be a superb event in London at the Royal Geographical Society. On Thursday 14 March there will be an anniversary event and dinner to celebrate 25 years since Stephen Venables became the first Briton to climb Everest without bottled oxygen. It will bring together for the first time in 25 years the entire team: Englishman, Stephen Venables; Americans, Robert Anderson and Ed Webster; and Canadian Paul Teare. Their new route up the mighty Kangshung Face has been described by Reinhold Messner as ëprobably the most adventurous expedition in Everestís historyí. Look out for more details about this even soon.
