"Late in June Leonie zoomed onto my phone, from Doha to somewhere near Dijon, as I headed north from early season alpine excursions. We talked through the upcoming expedition to Spantik, Pakistan, and it was clear that we were both keen to learn from the whole, 360 degrees, experience. As a guide who loves to coach, I know well that we have to move beyond our comfort zone, into the stretch zone, in order to learn. Small steps to stretch the elastic, returning to comfort, to rest and reflect. The process mirrors that of acclimatisation, “climb high, sleep low,” stretch and relax."
