Elbrus update
Tore, Leader of the 27 July Elbrus expedition, has just phoned in to say the team are doing very, very well. They have made it to North Hut and will spend tomorrow on the glacier refreshing their mountaineering skills.
Last week the 13 July Elbrus team had to turn back at the col due to high winds. One team member reports, "It's so worth trying from the north side even though the chances are smaller. It's such a great sense of achievement, even if you don't make it to the summit, just climbing 1700m in one go, as a summit attempt, in windy conditions, is a great result."
